Cortizo will present around twenty new architectural systems with international projection at Veteco

Padrón, (A Coruña) Octubre 29, 2024.

The aluminium and PVC multinational will have a stand of over 600 m2 where they will display their latest updates in windows, doors, façades and balustrades

Cortizo will attend the next edition of Veteco with a range of products that will include around twenty new aluminium and PVC systems designed by its R&D and Large-scale Developments Engineering teams. The Galician multinational will have a space of over 600 m2 (Hall 10; Stand 10D02) where they will display their latest updates in windows, doors, façades and balustrades aimed at meeting the demand of both the national market and the nearly 90 countries where it operates.

Great performance, fire protection solutions, versatile design, as well as the simplification of manufacturing and installation processes will be the key pillars of Cortizo’s innovations at Veteco; they will also focus on material circularity, introducing their Cortizo Infinity billet, made entirely from post-consumer scrap, and their new PVC recycling network.

Aluminium Updates

4600 Plus Lift & Slide. Conceived to cover large openings ensuring excellent thermal insulation. Its 80 mm deep sashes and special polyamides allow it to reach a Uw transmittance from only 0.65 W/m2K, positioning itself as one of the sliding systems with the best thermal performance on the market. Furthermore, the perimeter sightlines are reduced to 120 mm, which allows for an increased glazed area enhancing the entry of natural light into the rooms.

COR Vision EVO. The new version of the COR Vision Sliding accentuates its minimalism thanks to a closing system that allows the sashes to be embedded peripherally, opening up to infinite views that are only interrupted by a 25 mm interlock.

Fire-resistant doors and partition systems. Cortizo will exhibit at Veteco its new catalogue of Millennium FR doors with an EI 30, 60 and 90 classification. These fire-resistant solutions offer maximum protection in the event of a fire, including a special insulation in their profiles capable of delaying the spread of flames, smoke, gases or heat radiation for up to one and a half hours. Furthermore, the firm from Padrón expands its range of fire protection solutions with an indoor and outdoor partition system with an EI 60 classification.

Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation System (SHEV). Cortizo’s smoke and heat exhaust ventilation system, tested and certified by IFT Rosenheim, aims at improving visibility and reducing heat accumulation in the building in the event of a fire. This way, the risk of asphyxiation due to smoke inhalation is reduced, and the evacuation of occupants is facilitated. The SHEV system is composed of an enclosure and a motor which activates the opening in the event of a fire, allowing for the evacuation of heat and smoke, suitable for high-traffic areas such as: shopping centres, airports, public transport stations, and large residential buildings.

Wind Speed Sliding. This series of the Galician multinational has been specifically conceived for the American market, developed to resist extreme conditions caused by hurricanes. The Wind Speed can withstand wind loads of up to 80 Psf, thanks to aluminium profiles with greater thicknesses and inertias, combined with high-impact resistance glazing.

Window Wall. Just like the Wind Speed sliding system, the Window Wall system is designed to withstand hurricanes and tropical storms typical of the East Coast of the United States and the Caribbean. It is a floor-to-ceiling façade solution that has achieved the MIAMI-DADE NOA certification after successfully passing impact, air, water, and wind tests, conducted under one of the most restrictive standards in the world.

Additional highlighted proposals from the Galician company at Ifema will be: the Millennium Plus Pivot door in its glazed version; the tilt-and-turn opening integrated into the TP 62 façade; the View Crystal Fit Plus balustrade with adjustable packers; the Cladding Pro system; or the new solution of a motorised roller blind included in the COR 80 Industrial.

PVC Updates

Alongside the aluminium updates, Cortizo’s stand at Veteco will also allocate a significant space to showcase its latest proposals aimed at the PVC market. Among them, highlights include the launch of the A78 Hinged and the revamped E170 Lift & Slide, or the Arch Invisible handle for the A 84 Hidden Sash series.

A 78 Hinged. Window, door and balcony door PVC system with straight lines in the frame, sash and glazing beads (straight or mitred), that offers a great thermal and acoustic performance thanks to its 78 mm deep profiles with six chambers and its glazing capacity of up to 48 mm. The A 78 also features new gaskets that enhance the welding processes at the joint of the profiles.

E 170 Lift & Slide. Designed to cover large openings, this series evolves in its design towards a minimalist aesthetic, reducing the visible perimeter section of the sash and opting for an interlock of just 50 mm. In addition, it incorporates new solutions such as the sill with PMR threshold to facilitate accessibility, and the drainage grid for terraces.

The first company in the sector with its own aluminium and PVC recycling plants

This edition will mark 30 years since Cortizo’s first participation in Veteco. At that time, the Galician multinational had already integrated casting into its production processes, becoming the first Spanish profile manufacturer to recycle aluminium in order to generate its own raw material. This initiative led to the creation of the Cortizo Recycling network, a reference in the sector today with over 2,400 material collection points across Europe, and two foundries.

Nowadays, the company from Padrón is taking another step in its circularity strategy and will present its new recycling centre in Coirós (A Coruña) at the fair in Madrid. This complex will have a production capacity of 100,000 tons of post-consumer recycled billet, that is to say, the one made from windows, doors, façades, balustrades, and other aluminium products that, once their useful life has ended, are recovered to generate raw material for profile extrusion. With the implementation of these facilities, the multinational will significantly increase the production volume of Cortizo Infinity, its recycled aluminium billet made entirely from post-consumer scrap, certified by Bureau Veritas and accredited with an Environmental Product Declaration.

Alongside the Coirós plant, Cortizo will present at Veteco the details of its new PVC recycling centre in Guadalajara, the facilities where raw material for the production of aluminium profiles will be generated from windows removed during renovation projects. With this initiative, the multinational will reach another milestone by becoming the first company in the sector to own aluminium and PVC recycling plants, thus reinforcing a commitment to the environment and the circular economy that began over three decades ago.
